She had the kind of face
that made you believe in
humanity
(that made you happy mankind somehow
evolved from earlier species and
survived the ice-age)
She had the kind of spirit
(looking out of her face)
that filled your heart with wonder
and grace
She had that kind of face that makes
you think of past lives and
how you must have known her before
She had the kind of face that you could survive
a famine or a war for
The kind of face reflecting a spirit you
could wait a lifetime for
and it would make you happy to see her smile
The kind of smile you could survive for
(revive your own bent soul for)
She had that kind of mind that was floating as
freely as a deer galloping across a field
and that deer was not running out of fear,
she was just running

surreal moments are often the moments that imprint on the soul.
ReplyDeleteperhaps they are actually the real moments.
(the ones that dive into your heart and rip it open)
